Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), is on a visit to the United States of America.

Within the framework of his visit to the state of Utah, at the invitation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints community and the Stirling Foundation, CMB Chairman Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazade met with Mr. Cole Durham, President of the G20 Interfaith Forum Association, in Salt Lake City on October 3.

During the sincere meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation based on mutual trust and common goals. Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazade conveyed the greetings of the people of Azerbaijan and its leader, President Ilham Aliyev, to the leadership of the G20 Interfaith Forum Association. Highly valuing the activities of the Association and its President, the CMB Chairman noted that he has consistently participated in five forums organized by the Association in various parts of the world and has contributed to the work of this platform. Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazade emphasized that his participation in the G20 Interfaith Forums is proof of his high respect for this platform and its peaceful mission. He stressed that in the modern era, where threats and dangers to human life and existence are increasing, the traditional Interfaith Forums, held annually ahead of the G20 meetings, have become an effective practical manifestation of the joint cooperation between state and religious representatives, stemming from the necessity of increasing joint efforts by political, public, and religious leaders and promoting global dialogue.

Mr. Cole Durham, President of the G20 Interfaith Forum Association, accepted the greetings of the President and people of Azerbaijan with great respect and gratitude, wishing prosperity and success to the country. Expressing his sincere thanks to Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazade for his active and continuous participation in the work of the Interfaith Forums, Mr. Durham emphasized that the Sheikh-ul-Islam's great experience and international authority significantly increase the status and credibility of the events he attends. Cole Durham provided extensive information about the reforms planned within the structure of the G20 Interfaith Forum and requested the Sheikh-ul-Islam to provide his recommendations based on his vast experience regarding these reforms. The Sheikh-ul-Islam highly appreciated the proposed reforms and shared his thoughts and recommendations on the matter.

President of the Association, Cole Durham, listened carefully to Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazade's recommendations and assured him that they would definitely be taken into account when the reforms are implemented. The parties agreed to exchange information during the process of structural reform of the Interfaith Forum.

Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, Javanshir Pashazade, Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Nicole Stirling, Vice President of the Stirling Foundation, participated in the meeting.
