The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq to Azerbaijan, Makki Al-Mamouri, on the occasion of the completion of his term of activity.
Touching upon the importance of developing political and historical religious-spiritual ties between Azerbaijan and Iraq, Sheikhulislam A. Pashazade spoke with satisfaction about Ambassador Mamouri's contribution to this work. He noted that the preservation and development of the historical, traditional cultural-spiritual, and fraternal relations between our countries and peoples are of paramount importance.
The Iraqi diplomat, in turn, expressed gratitude for the activities of Sheikhulislam A. Pashazade, the esteemed religious leader of the Muslims of the Caucasus, in deepening Azerbaijani-Iraqi religious-spiritual relations, and for the support given by the Sheikhulislam to his efforts as ambassador. Sharing his rich impressions from his visits to the liberated Karabakh lands after Azerbaijan's Victory in the Patriotic War, the Ambassador expressed pride in the successes of the Azerbaijani people. The Ambassador stressed that the President of Iraq's visit to Azerbaijan three times in recent years attests to the high level of relations between our countries, noting that this contributes to the further development of fruitful ties in all areas.
Sheikhulislam A. Pashazade highly appreciated Mr. M. Mamouri's efforts to further strengthen the existing bridges between our peoples and states, and wished him success in his future endeavors.
