On April 10, a commemorative ceremony was held in Baku in connection with the 40th day of the passing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.
AZERTAC reports that Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, government and public representatives, and religious figures participated in the ceremony.
The ceremony first began with the recitation of the "Holy Quran". Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh made a speech, shared his memories related to Sayyid Ali Khamenei, and spoke about his rich spiritual legacy and his role in the Islamic world. The Sheikh-ul-Islam, at the same time, wished for the resolution of conflicts and disasters happening in the world, and expressed his wishes for peace, tranquility, and prosperity for humanity.
In his speech, Iran's ambassador to our country Mojtaba Demirchilu spoke about Sayyid Ali Khamenei's life path, his activities in the fields of state and religion, as well as his contributions to the Islamic world. He especially emphasized the solidarity, humanitarian, and moral support shown by Azerbaijan since the first days of the tension, and expressed his gratitude to our country for this.
Then, the religious figures who spoke talked about religious values and spiritual legacy. The memory of the deceased was respectfully honored, and his religious and public activities were highly appreciated.
It should be noted that in connection with the 40th day of the passing of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, a commemorative ceremony was also held in Nakhchivan today.
Let us recall that Iran's supreme religious leader Ali Khamenei passed away on February 28. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed a letter of condolence to President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian in connection with his passing, and also visited the Iranian embassy in Baku, writing his heartfelt words in the book of condolences.
