On March 11, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, organized an iftar feast for the participants visiting our country within the framework of the XIII Global Baku Forum.
AZERTAC reports that in addition to the forum participants, heads of religious confessions operating in Azerbaijan also attended the ceremony.
The iftar ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the "Holy Quran" and the Ramadan prayer.
The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, stated that it is a great source of pride for people from various countries of the world to come together in Azerbaijan. "In Azerbaijan, multiculturalism and the relations between religions and denominations are at a level as high as nowhere else in the world. The foundation of these conditions and multiculturalism was laid by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. This policy is successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev," emphasized Allahshukur Pashazade.
The High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and Special Envoy to combat Islamophobia, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, thanked Azerbaijan for creating such a platform: "I want to assure you that throughout my career, I have supported the fight against Islamophobia. Azerbaijan's policy in this field is very inspiring."
Co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Ismail Serageldin, drew attention to the importance of people knowing and respecting one another. He emphasized that the value Azerbaijan places on human brotherhood is a great source of pride for everyone.
The former Secretary-General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, noted that the example of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan contributes to the establishment of peace in the world.
In the speeches, the steps taken by Azerbaijan toward promoting interreligious and intercultural dialogue on an international level were highly appreciated, and it was emphasized that our country has formed an exemplary model in this field.
Following this, an iftar feast was served.
