On July 17, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Issam bin Saleh al-Juteyli. Welcoming the ambassador, Sheikhulislam emphasized the high level of relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries, noting the important role of the friendly ties between the heads of state—President Ilham Aliyev and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He thanked the ambassador for his contribution to the bilateral relations.

Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade said that the continuous development of relations in various fields, including the religious one, is important. The CMB chairman asked the diplomat to convey his thanks to the leadership of the Kingdom's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for the kind attitude shown to pilgrims from Azerbaijan during this year's Hajj season. Ambassador Issam bin Saleh al-Juteyli thanked Sheikhulislam for creating the opportunity to meet again.

The diplomat, indicated that more than one million seven hundred thousand pilgrims visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the concluded Hajj season, gave information about the work carried out by his country for the safety and comfort of the guests of God. According to the ambassador, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is in constant contact with nearly 200 countries during the Hajj season, highly appreciated the work of the Azerbaijani Hajj Mission. The ambassador thanked Sheikhulislam for the conditions created for the activity of the Hajj Mission and said that the necessary steps will continue to be taken to ensure that Azerbaijani pilgrims perform their visits safely and comfortably, and that constant attention and care will be shown to them.

During the meeting, an exchange of views was held on other issues of mutual interest.
