While on a visit to Istanbul at the invitation of the Marmara Group Foundation for Strategic and Social Research, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Board, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, at the organization's headquarters in Istanbul.
At the meeting, the Sheikh-ul-Islam emphasized cooperation, the strengthening of collaboration, and the importance of unity among the religious leaders of the Turkic states' member countries: "The idea of creating a Council of Religious Figures of the Turkic States belongs to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. In general, religious figures should stand alongside the policies pursued by heads of state and convey them to the people."
The Sheikh of All the Caucasus also brought to the attention of the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States that the calls of hatred still voiced today by certain forces in Armenia are unacceptable.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, expressed his deep gratitude to the Sheikh of All the Caucasus on the occasion of the meeting and noted that an informal meeting of the heads of state of the Organization of Turkic States would be held in the coming days in Turkestan.
After the meeting, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Board, Allahshukur Pashazade, was given information about the museum and library located at the headquarters of the Organization of Turkic States.
It should be noted that on 12–13 May, the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit will be held, organized by the Marmara Group Foundation for Strategic and Social Research. The participation of 48 countries is anticipated at the forum.
