On 20 November, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, received Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), who was on a visit to Azerbaijan.

Expressing his pleasure at meeting the Secretary-General again, His Eminence Sheikhulislam stated that the OTS is carrying out a glorious historical mission. He noted that the Heads of State of the member countries are undertaking important work.

Thanking the Chairman for the sincere reception, Kubanychbek Omuraliyev described the declaration signed in the city of Shusha on 20 October 2022, regarding the establishment of the OTS Consultative Council of Muslim Religious Leaders, as a historical document. He expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, for his services in the establishment and operation of the Consultative Council.

The Secretary-General noted that the chairmanship of the OTS passed to Azerbaijan after the Summit held in Gabala this year. Kubanychbek Omuraliyev expressed his confidence that the organisation’s activities will be further strengthened during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship.

During the conversation, future plans of the OTS Consultative Council of Muslim Religious Leaders and upcoming meetings were discussed.
