Azerbaijan is recognized on the international stage as an exemplary country for its rich religious diversity, traditions of multiculturalism, and policy of tolerance. In our country, various religious communities live together in an environment of peace and mutual respect, and the state consistently takes steps to preserve and develop this diversity. At the same time, a principled position is demonstrated against Islamophobia in Azerbaijan, and important work is carried out to prevent these negative tendencies.
AZERTAC reports that these remarks were made by Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), while receiving the participants of the international conference titled "Islamophobia: Exposure of Prejudice and Demolition of Stigmas" in Baku.
The Sheikhulislam stated that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Islamic culture, religious values, and religious freedoms are constantly protected and promoted at a high level in our country. Azerbaijan's stance in this area, as well as its consistent steps toward solidarity and cooperation in the Islamic world, serve as an example for other countries.
Allahshukur Pashazade also noted the alarming increase in cases of Islamophobia in Western countries, emphasizing the importance of a joint fight against such tendencies. Azerbaijan's model of multicultural values and religious tolerance presented to the world was highlighted as a significant example in this direction.
