We, the leaders of the religious confessions in Azerbaijan, feel highly honored to express the profound gratitude of the religious figures and faithful of Azerbaijan to His Excellency, President Ilham Aliyev, for the unparalleled pride and joy he has brought to the people of Azerbaijan in 2025, a year he declared the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty," and on the eve of the 5th anniversary of the Great Karabakh Victory.
With wise statecraft and an iron political will, His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev fully restored Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its ancestral lands, demonstrating our victory to the entire global community on the international stage. We recognize the results of the Summit held in Washington, D.C., USA, on August 8, 2025, between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, as a historically significant achievement, and we evaluate it as the logical outcome of our victorious leader's successful state policy.
The value and essence of the documents signed during the high-level reception of the President of Azerbaijan in the world’s leading country determine their historic importance.
The conspicuous repeal of Amendment 907, which had been a symbol of bias against our country for many years, by U.S. President Donald Trump, became an embodiment of respect and confidence in the Head of the Azerbaijani state, and a significant act of support for the Azerbaijani state in the person of Mr. President.
The Joint Declaration, which marks the beginning of a new era in our region, is an official confirmation not only of the normalization of inter-state relations but also of the establishment of peace, stability, and prosperity. The cessation of the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group and its related structures indicates that the conflict page has been closed and new realities based on international law have been accepted. The assurance of unhindered connection between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the main part of Azerbaijan and the realization of the Zangezur Corridor—the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” project—which will pass through the territory of Armenia, undoubtedly opens new opportunities for the region’s economic development and the welfare of its peoples. This historic document, which is a turning point for the restoration of peace, stability, and good neighborly relations in the South Caucasus, closes the conflict page, excludes revanchist tendencies, and, by securing the path to peace, opens bright opportunities for future generations. Thus, the Head of the Azerbaijani state bestowed yet another world-scale Victory upon the Azerbaijani people, achieving the restoration of historical justice on the global political-diplomatic stage, the confirmation of our sovereignty at the highest level, and the opening of new prospects for our country and region.
The leaders and faithful of the religious confessions in Azerbaijan highly appreciate the Washington agreements as the triumph of peace diplomacy and wise leadership, and they give their support and blessings to this path. We pray to the Almighty Lord for favor upon the efforts and deeds of our leader, who stands out for his reverence for national, spiritual, and universal values, and our victorious leader who brings pride to our country on the world stage, and for his dedicated activity for the sake of the Azerbaijani people and state. May the Almighty Creator protect our people, our Motherland, our state, and our victorious Head of State! Amen!
