On 13 November, the opening ceremony of the Baku office of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of the USA was held.

AZERTAC reports that the ceremony was attended by a delegation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of the USA, along with Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, and Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Centre.

Attending the ceremony as members of the delegation were David Bednar, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; Jack Gerard, a member of the Committee of the Seventy and First Counsellor in the Europe Central Area Presidency; Miles Hansen, President and Chairman of the Board of the Stirling Foundation; and Paul Picard, a member of the Quorum of the Seventy for Central Europe and Eurasia.

It should be noted that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was officially registered by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organisations in Azerbaijan on 10 July 2024. The head of the community is Olga Kimovna Guliyeva.

During the ceremony, the opening of the church's Baku office was assessed as a significant development that will contribute to the advancement of religious cooperation between the two countries, as well as the promotion of Azerbaijan's multicultural values and religious tolerance.

It is worth noting that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church) is a religious centre rooted in Christian origins but distinguished from traditional Christian denominations by some doctrinal features.
