On December 25, a meeting was held at the Caucasus Muslims Board. At the meeting, a group of members of the CMB's Qadis Council and the board's employees who actively participated in the events organized during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29) held in Baku last month were presented with letters of gratitude signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
The chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, spoke at the meeting and stated that the successful hosting of COP-29 in Azerbaijan, which has been hosting prestigious events in recent years, is another indicator of our country's growing reputation in the world. His Eminence Sheikh-ul-Islam noted that religious figures also tried to contribute to this important event. Recalling that the Global Summit of Religious Leaders was held in Baku from November 5 to 7 within the framework of COP-29 under the motto "World Religions for a Green Planet," the CMB chairman emphasized that more than 220 foreign guests from 50 countries and 30 influential international organizations participated in this significant event. Allahshukur Pashazade stated that the CMB has been receiving letters of gratitude from the Summit participants, and these letters contain kind words about the high level of organization.
His Eminence Sheikh-ul-Islam, who was among those who received letters of gratitude signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for their active participation in the events within the framework of COP-29, assessed this as a sign of the country's leader's attention and care for the development of state-religion relations and the protection of our national and moral values. He congratulated the awardees and wished them success in their future activities.
The first deputy chairman of the CMB, Mufti Salman Musayev, and the Qadi for the Sumgayit-Absheron-Khizi region, Rauf Sardarov, spoke and expressed their gratitude to the head of state, stating that they will work with all their might for the development of state-religion relations and the protection and promotion of our national and moral values.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to send a letter of gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on behalf of the religious figures who received the awards.
