The Muslim world is celebrating the blessed Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice). On June 6th, holiday prayers were performed for this occasion across Azerbaijan, including in the mosques that have begun operating in our territories liberated from occupation.
At the holiday prayer held at the Tezepir Mosque, led by Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, prayers were recited for the souls of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of our country. The memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was respectfully commemorated.
Addressing the faithful, His Eminence the Sheikh-ul-Islam congratulated our people on the blessed Eid al-Adha, wishing them peace, prosperity, and abundance. The Chairman of the CMB stated that thanks to the resolute position of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the valor of our Army, the influence of our country among world states is increasing. Today, Azerbaijan is an example to the world in many areas, including religion-state relations. In Azerbaijan, where people of various religions and cultures live in mutual understanding, relations between different confessions are also at a high level.
Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade noted that through the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, led by Mehriban Aliyeva, our mosques and places of worship are being repaired and restored. The calls to prayer (azan) are once again heard from our newly rebuilt mosques in the liberated territories, and holiday prayers are being performed there. All these efforts are welcomed by the faithful of the country and further increase their faith in the Azerbaijani state.
