The First International Islamic Civilization Forum will be held in Uzbekistan on July 7–11. The main purpose of the Forum is to promote mutual respect across the Muslim world in the 21st century and to convey to the world the true essence of Islam — peace and enlightenment. Azerbaijan is represented at the Forum by Allahshukur Pashazade, Sheikh of All the Caucasus.

To this end, Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, who traveled to Tashkent on July 6, met with Nuriddin Kholiknazarov, Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and Grand Mufti. Allahshukur Pashazade noted that Uzbekistan has always been dear to his heart, recalling the years he once spent studying there. Placing special emphasis on the deepening relations between the brotherly Azerbaijani and Uzbek peoples, the Sheikh of All the Caucasus spoke of the great efforts undertaken in this direction by President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan. Allahshukur Pashazade also noted that National Leader Heydar Aliyev, back in the Soviet era — during the years when he was a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party — was a beacon of hope for all the Muslim peoples of the Union. Within the framework of the meeting, matters of mutual interest were discussed and honorary gifts were exchanged.

The Azerbaijani delegation then visited the Center for Islamic Civilization located in Tashkent. The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board was given a detailed briefing on the Center's building — including its vast library holding 100,000 manuscripts and more than one million books, the Center's research department, and the offices of international organizations housed there — as well as on the "Uthman Qur'an," regarded as the spiritual pearl of the Muslim world, displayed in the "Holy Qur'an" hall at the heart of the exposition. A special ceremony was held at the Center for Islamic Civilization for the guests who had come to Uzbekistan for the First International Islamic Civilization Forum. The ceremony was attended by ICESCO Director-General Salim AlMalik, Sheikh of All the Caucasus Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Kholiknazarov, and other officials.

It should be noted that the First International Islamic Civilization Forum will be held in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara.
