The model of religious tolerance in Azerbaijan can be accepted as an example for the entire Muslim world.
AZERTAC reports that this was stated by Sheik-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB).
He noted that a decision to this effect was adopted at a major international conference on inter-Islamic dialogue held in Bahrain in February. At the event, which was attended by prominent religious figures, Azerbaijan's experience in the field of inter-denominational dialogue was presented. The conference participants decided that the Azerbaijani model of inter-denominational understanding should be promoted and encouraged worldwide.
The Sheik-ul-Islam added that a book titled “A Call to the People of the Qibla” was published in Azerbaijani, English, Russian, and Arabic based on the conference's results and will be distributed globally. "The book notes that the environment of tolerance, inter-religious dialogue, and inter-denominational understanding established in Azerbaijan as a result of the policy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev should be a model for all Muslims worldwide."
Allahshukur Pashazadeh also pointed out that a prestigious conference is planned to be held in Azerbaijan with the participation of world religious leaders to showcase the country's unique experience of coexistence between religions and denominations.
