The 7th Baku Meeting of the religious leaders of the fraternal Turkic states is the successful continuation of a valuable tradition that began in Azerbaijan and of fruitful cooperation, and it promotes the deepening of our spiritual solidarity within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States. The National Leader of the Azerbaijani people and the elder statesman of the Turkic world, Heydar Aliyev, once beautifully expressed the brotherly ties, unity and solidarity of our peoples who share a common history and spiritual values, likening us to the branches of a great ancient tree. To borrow the words of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, who gave impetus to the establishment of the Organization of Turkic States through the historic Nakhchivan Summit of 2009: "The Turkic world is our family."
As reported by AZERTAC, this was stated by the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, during his address at the 7th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Administrations of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
"Turkic-Islamic unity benefits from the joint cooperation and regular consultations of the Muslim religious leaders of the Organization of Turkic States, and we are moving towards our shared goals with great confidence and great hope for the future. Thanks to the wise policies of our heads of state, special respect and care is shown towards our religious and spiritual values. As religious leaders of the Turkic world, we declare our joint support for these magnificent initiatives and pray to Almighty God for His blessing," he stated.
