As reported by AZERTAC, this was stated by the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, during his address at the plenary session of the 1st International Conference on the topic "The Peak of Seyyid Yahya Bakuvi in the Cultural Heritage of the Islamic World: Moderate Values and Contemporary Challenges," held at the Gulistan Palace within the framework of the 7th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
According to him, Azerbaijan is on the world's agenda through its platforms for civilisational and intercultural dialogue and cooperation, and its regular global forums. Our primary aim is to present to the international community the ideas of Bakuvi — which have historically formed the ideological foundation of the inter-madhab understanding model based on Islam's moderate values — as a spiritual school.
"At a time when factors threatening human civilisation such as terrorism, separatism and radicalism, manifestations of xenophobia and Islamophobia, and instances of the misuse of religion are on the rise in the modern world, international events of an intra-Islamic dialogue character that serve religious-spiritual stability and inter-madhab understanding are extremely relevant and necessary. I take pride in the fact that Azerbaijan — a land of human brotherhood and universal solidarity — is serving as a centre of moderate values most needed in the world today and as a leading spiritual-humanitarian platform.
