Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, who is on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the presentation and discussion ceremony of the Muslim World League's Electronic Platform, met with the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, at the organisation’s headquarters in Mecca, at the latter's initiative.
Expressing his thanks for the invitation, Sheikhulislam A. Pashazadeh conveyed the greetings of the Head of State of Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev, to the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and stressed that he participated in the presentation ceremony held in Mecca on 26 November with the President's blessing. Secretary-General Muhammad Al-Issa, in turn, expressed his pleasure at seeing Sheikhulislam A. Pashazadeh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and conveyed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his greetings and blessings.
The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, A. Pashazadeh, announced that a number of international gatherings are planned in Azerbaijan in 2026, including an influential international conference on Multiculturalism and Islamophobia, co-organised by the CMB and the UN Alliance of Civilizations. He invited the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League to that conference. Mr. Al-Issa expressed his thanks for the invitation and specifically noted that he would be pleased to visit Azerbaijan. The CMB Chairman, A. Pashazadeh, expressed his deep gratitude to the Saudi side for their constant and unequivocal support for Azerbaijan during the period of Armenia's aggression, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, including that of the Muslim World League. Sheikhulislam informed his interlocutor that restoration and reconstruction works are currently underway in our liberated territories, that unparalleled rebuilding efforts by our state are continuing to revive our cultural and spiritual heritage subjected to Armenian vandalism, that new mosques are being built in place of the destroyed ones in those lands, and that the call to prayer (Azan) is being raised from there.
